ACS (International) students in theNovember 2015 IGCSE examination continued the trend of recent years byexceeding the performance of the previous year. This trend was also observed inthe IB Diploma results released two weeks ago. The results were released yestesday19 January at 5pm.
ACS (International) students produced a91.4% pass rate with 53% Distinction passes. This compares to 91% and 90% passrates in 2014 and 2013 respectively; and 48% and 45% Distinction pass ratesrespectively. 80% gained entry to our IBDiploma programme by gaining at least 2xA; 2 x B and 2 x C passes (74% in 2014).
Seventeen students in the 133 strongcohort gained all Distinction passes (A * or A) – compared to 12 last year. These top performing students who each gained100% Distinction passes were Evangeline Leong Li En, Zhu Mengqi, Dhruv Uppal, ChungYungling Samantha, Chen Siye, Liam Kuok Ke Wei, Lee Hyun Ju, Purinat Atipas, YangXiyan, Wang Tianwen, Lyu Shijia, Eric Wen Bo Chao, Lim Jia Jing, Guo Shiyu ,ChenKaiyuan, Xiang Zhecheng, and Hu Yanran.
Top performing subjects included Japanese,Music and Physical Education with 100% pass rates; followed by Mathematics 98%,English Literature 95%, Physics, 94%, Chemistry 94%, Biology 93%, and BusinessStudies 93%. The highest percentage of distinctions were in Chemistry (75%),Mathematics (70%), Music (67%) and Physics (61%).
Top of the World results are releasedlater in the year. The school has gained 13 of these prestigious awards overthe previous six years in English Literature, English Language, Economics, Mathematics,Additional Mathematics, Geography, Physical Education and Chinese.
